The Scottish Perinatal Mental Health Care Pathways – Community Perinatal Mental Health Teams

Pathway 3: What are Community Perinatal Mental Health Teams? How can they help me and my baby?

Community Perinatal Mental Health Teams (CPMHTs) are made up of professionals who specialise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of women affected by a moderate to severe mental illness in pregnancy or after childbirth, or when planning a pregnancy. They can provide you with a range of treatments suited to your needs, including talking therapies, medicines and help for mothers and babies together.
